Using Monochromatic Colors

Buying punches can be expensive.  You want to be sure and get a lot of use out of each one.  But how many heart layouts can you really do?  Well, actually quite a few when you cut that heart up for flowers or leaves or bunny ears.  Here is a technique to get even more use out of those punches and create an entirely different affect.

Bear

Jumpy

Try using the same color punch pieces and your background page.  This can be done to create an elegant layout or a fun one.  Here are four examples that run the gamut from playful and easy to elegant a just a little more time consuming (Not too much though).

The “Bear” and “Jumpy” layouts use this monochromatic technique in an easy and quick way.  Just using  a single punch and randomly gluing the pieces on a similar or same color can add an interesting look to a layout.

Honeymooners Pose

Wedding

The “Honeymooners” and “Wedding” page use a several punches and layering to create the affect.  The wedding is done in white but a cream or really any light color can be used.  The more you layer; the more dimension will be seen.  The Honeymooners uses a couple different kinds of red in order to achieve dimension.
