Flowers,
Flowers, and a little Pokemon
Flowers
are great fun to create with punches.
There are so many different variations available as well.
Add to that the ability to punch, cut, and paste them together.
This first flower was created using a new CD called PK
Possibilities – Punch Krazy vol. 1 by Paige Eliason-Beam.
Instead of a paper idea book, these ideas are all collected and
explained on a CD Rom. This
flower is a simple version of the one on the CD.
If you don’t know what to do with the super jumbo swirl, here is
a great idea. Punch two and reverse one and overlap the center swirl.
Use the jumbo circle punch and punch a green circle.
Reinsert the circle half way and punch again.
This will create the leaves.

The
new checkerboard border punch by All Night Media is great if you like
the Mary Englebreit style. Use
the punch upside down. After
you have punched one set of mini squares, align the punch and your open
square holes so that the last squares you punched are visible through
the punch squares. Now,
push down on the punch. This
will give you an even border every time.
To make the flowers, punch a bunch of small circles in blue (or
whatever color) and then 1/8” circles in white or yellow.
Glue the 1/8” circles onto the small circles and randomly glue
along punched checkerboard. Add
teardrop punched pieces in green to finish the page.

This
next flower is EASY as far as punching and cutting go.
But, you will need a steady hand to outline each flower petal and
center circle. These flowers
look great on vellum as well. Punch all the colors you want and use the small circles
(Marvy Uchida) to glue in the middle of each one.
I used the jumbo flower and corner flower for this layout.
After everything is glued, get out a black pen with a .01 tip (EK
Success, Millennium). Use a
line dot line to go around each petal and the center.
Glue them to your layout as a border or corners or just anywhere.

Last,
POKEMON! Having two little
boys doesn’t allow for a lot of flower punch art.
So for those of you in my same boat, here is a Pokemon layout.
This is very easy to use and is great to represent your child’s
(or possibly yours) interest in this year 2000 craze.
I used the super jumbo circle (Nankong) and the small circle from
Marvy Uchida’s hand punch set. Punch
the super jumbos in red, black, and white.
Cut the red and white ones in half.
Glue on red and one white to each black circle but spread them
apart 1/16” in order to show the black line in the middle.
Punch a small circle in white and then a little larger on in black.
If you only have one small circle punch, punch the white and glue
it onto black cardstock. Then
cut around the white circle leaving a black edge.
Glue this circle to the center line.
If you think you have a pretty good assortment of
punches, and don’t really need (want) more, hold on to your seat.
There are more on the way with thousands of ideas attached to each
one.
