It doesn’t take a lot to give your page a little pizzazz!  Cut a vertical strip of plaid in co-coordinating colors to add to the edge of your page, punch a couple of holes in the center of the border.  To center without measuring, match top and bottom corners together, folding the paper in half but DO NOT CREASE!  Punch holes (an oval hand punch works well) to desired space apart and then open paper.  Thread both ends of the ribbon down from the top, then cross over and go up the hole on the opposite side.  This anchors the ribbon without tying a knot.  Mount photos on cardstock and then add a die cut.

If you have children, quick pages are a must!  Use bold, bright colors to accent a focal point of the layout.  It is also helpful to have a few tricks to make it easier to complete the page without leaving it totally plain.  If you have lettering templates, you can use them to outline your letters and adapt them to a slightly different style so that all your letters from templates don’t look the same.

You can also add a little pizzazz to your photos by cutting a square and then cutting it down again diagonally from corner to corner.  Adhere to the top of all four corners of the photo.  Use the lines in the plaid paper to journal on.

Remember, if you want time to make the memories, all your time can’t be spent scrapbooking them!

Perfect pages in pinch can be achieved by letting someone else do all the set up work!  Matting your photo on layered coordinating paper and trimming an edge with scissors makes an easy layout.  Punch a few hearts out and use for the title and you’re done!

Think a really special page has to take tons of time?  While part of the fun of scrapbooking is taking your time to select the perfect paper for your photos, we understand that sometimes time is of the essence.

Looking for a few timesaving tips for your holiday season?  We asked Hot Off The Press Scrapbook Specialist LeNae Gerig to design a terrific page with your schedule in mind!

Take a look at our wonderful stamped page.  It’s a great page – but it took LeNae over an hour to hand-stamp the background paper and the border.  With patterned background paper and a border Punch-Out™, the finished page takes only 15 minutes – and there’s no clean-up time!

“Quick and easy pages can look just as polished as your more time-consuming pages,” says LeNae.  “My secret weapon to Quick Pages?  It’s a sheet of patterned background paper to give instant color and dimension to my page.”

We’re providing supply lists for both layouts if you find you’d like to try it the hard way!
