I was a quilt maker long before I ever started scrapbooking. Consequently, I love to do paper piecing. I am always looking for new patterns and have found some really cute ones in a new company called Bumper Crops, Scrapbook Appliqué Patterns. These are pattern kits that include all the paper you need (except the background paper) for a single or double page layouts, 8 ½” X 11” or 12” X 12” size pages. Included with the pattern are lettering ideas, quotes, embellished lines and a color photo of a layout idea. The pattern comes in a re-sealing packet that is perfect for storing the pattern pieces once you cut them out.
I had a lot of fun using these patterns. They do take a little time, but it is worth the look you get. The patterns can be re-used over and over with scraps of your own paper. Use a different background paper and accent colors and you will get a whole new look! Make sure you check out their website to see all the wonderful patterns available!

Here's a hint to cutting out the patterns. When doing quilting, I used pins to hold the pattern in place. That won't work for paper! So try cutting roughly around the outside of the pattern, adhere it to the cardstock with the Hermafix Transfer dispenser. The little sticky dots will hold it in place temporarily. After you cut around the exact pattern, you can peel the pattern off and stick it on a piece of plain paper. If there is any residue left on the cardstock, you can either use the other side or just rub it off. It's really a big help and you don't have to trace and then erase!
