Creating punch art to accent your scrapbook pages requires a bit of creativity. Turning a birch leaf into pine tree greenery and pinecones is a bit of a stretch but that is what is so fun about punches: creating designs out of simple shapes. The first layout, Our First year dating, uses the birch leaf in the large and small size. The large size is the pine and the small are the pinecones. In order to create the pine needles, you will need a pair of fine point scissors. My favorites are the Fiskars soft touch micro tip scissors. Cut our little slits on around the whole birch leaf. It is a little time consuming but not too bad. The pinecones have the stem cut off and are detailed with a brown pen. Freehand cut a branch and adhere the pine needles and pinecones.
Santa Claus fright is pretty easy to create. The first thing you need is the really great ornament punch from Emagination crafts. Punch these in green, red, and white. You will need the white piece that punches out to fill the green and red pieces. The snowflakes are from Stampin' Up and Marvy Uchida. To glue all these little pieces together, I have found only one glue that actually keeps the pieces adhered. The Sailor ball point glue pen works the best (I've tried everything).
Christmas 1998 is also an easy one to complete. You will need a 3/4" square (or a good trimmer and your accuracy) and a few shapes. The great thing about this punched border is that any shapes will work great. The medium size will work the best. Punch squares in solid colors as well as patterns. Punch out several shapes and adhere these to the solid squares. Cut a long strip that will give you about a 1/16" border. Mount the squares alternating solid and patterned.
Cute little sheep are great for baby pages. This sheep is very easy to put together. You will need a super jumbo white circle, six small white spirals, a medium black circle, and a medium black heart. Adhere the six spirals around the super jumbo circle. Cut the heart in half for the ears and glue on top of the black circle. Adhere the head to the center of the super jumbo circle. Free hand cut two legs and add a mini heart or mini triangle for the nose. Use a white pen for the eyes and mouth.
