Photo Borders
By Helen Naylor

Normally, when you think of a border, you think of one that will go the entire vertical or horizontal edge of your layout page. Here is a Photo Border. These two borders are along the sides of the pictures.

In Making Music, I have made a Mary Englebreit-style posy border by punching circles, ovals and egg shapes. I added some darker green pencil accents to the leaves for dimension. Keeping the colors simple and using the black and white checkerboard patterned paper, makes the layout dramatic.

Perfect in Pink has two vertical strips of small heart punches on each side of the photos. By mounting the photos on white and leaving an extra wide side edge on which to mount the hearts, the photos are well framed. Adding a few heart punches to the text box ties in the photo borders to the entire layout.

Try some photo borders for fun next time you scrapbook!
