Woven Borders
By Alison Beachem

Don't limit your cardstock to mats and layout backgrounds. Create exciting and unique pages by adding a woven touch. Creating a border by weaving colored strips of cardstock is easy and creates and interesting effect. Try creating a loose weave like the 'Mission Beach' layout. Create the woven effect in the corner by loosely weaving various strips of different widths and colors in the just the corners. For the 'Santa' layout, create a tight weave with the same size width strips. This is similar to the paper placemats made in elementary school. Anchor one color down and weave in the second color. Don't try an plan the length of the second color before weaving, just trim off the excess when you are done.
