Welcome

I love to paint on my pages! Acrylic paints, water paints--whatever I can find that will work with scrapbooking. One of my favorite techniques is masking. 3M, the company that makes Post It Notes, also makes Post It Tape in different widths. I like to mask off my paper using these tapes--the wider ones can be cut with decorative edged scissors. These tapes are removable, so once you lay them down to create your pattern--all you have to do is paint, let it dry and remove the tape. Try this same technique with removable reinforcers and stickers too! Try it on mats, tags and other embellishments made from paper. It's fun to let the painter within evolve.

Happy Scrapping!
Allison

Feature Article: Matting Madness
Mats By:
Chris Ramirez

Just like the Mad Hatter, some scrappers are just mad about matting! It is truly the perfect way to bring attention to our photos and get awesomely creative at the same time! But just like Alice in Wonderland at the tea party, we can get frazzled about how to approach creative matting. Let’s take a trip through the Looking Glass and see that we can make sense of a great technique that will forever remain a classic in scrapbooking.

scrapbooking tip
To make your own monograms, find a font on your computer that you like and print it backwards on the wrong side of your paper. Then, take your craft knife and a glass mat, and cut out the letter. Lightly sand any rough edges with an emery board or a buffing block.

One of the easiest ways to get a lot of photos on a page is by adding the pictures to a flip flop photo holder. These come ready to go and are even self-adhesive – you just slide your photos into the sleeves and attach it to your page. The holder then folds out accordion-style to show all the pictures.
