Welcome

2006 is almost here! As I spent some time last week reviewing the entries of our "Giving Thanks" contest I felt inspired to encourage you to enter our "Winter Holiday" contest. Did you make an awesome scrapbook page for Chanukah, or did you use your scrapbooking supplies to make a Christmas gift? Maybe you used die cuts to make Kwanza decorations. It is amazing to me that our readership extends around the globe. I can't wait to see what you have created to commemorate or celebrate your winter holiday traditions. Remember that the deadline for entries is December 31st. Oh, and make sure you take a look at the winning layout from our "Giving Thanks" contest!

Happy Crafting!

One system. Unlimited possibilities.

Only one crafting system boasts unlimited creative expression, all-around quality, total value and high compatibility with Sizzix. Finally, there's ellison design. (It isn't bragging, after all, if you can do it.)

Sophisticated, yet traditional describe the newest addition to the Colorbök "Perfect Scrapbook" family. With this newest line of seasonal albums, it's all about style and texture. The combination of faux suede and leather accented with a de-bossed title, makes these scrapbooks distinctive. Be sure to check with your local retailer to get your album in time for your holiday memories.

Texturizing Techniques
Back to Basics By: Lynne Wilson

Texture is an interesting way to add variety to your layouts. There are so many things you can use to give your pages texture — from craft mediums to items around your house.

Using a texture paste is a little more advanced, but allows for a lot of different looks. Texture paste is a thick paste that dries opaque. You can tint it, make designs with it, or mix things into it. In this example, it is spread on the page to look like snow peaks and acrylic snowflakes are embedded into it.

scrapbooking tip
Kids are a great help with holiday decorations - enjoy a quiet afternoon of family crafting. Get out some cardstock, patterned papers, stickers and your scraps. You can make "Countdown Chains", Paper Snowflakes, Ornaments and more. It's a fun and easy way to get festive.
