Merry Christmas and
Happy Chanukah! This is a busy week for most people as they prepare for family
and the impending holidays. If you feel like you are becoming stressed, take a
break and reflect on the true meaning of the holidays. Spend time with family
and friends creating memories that can last a lifetime. Pull out an old
scrapbook and share some time remembering treasured holidays of past years.
Don't forget to have your camera with you to record this year's holiday - you'll
want to have plenty of pictures to scrap in 2006!
Happy Crafting!

One of my favorite things to do with my scrapbook
and paper art projects is to use acrylic paint on them. Paint can be used for
creating titles with foam stamps, aging paper with a dry-brushing technique,
changing the color of metal embellishments, and adding a pop of color to
highlight an element or photo.

Do you love the idea of using Christmas Carols as
inspiration, but you have some pictures that weren’t taken during the holidays?
Don’t stress! Flip the script and use those carols for your non-Christmas pics!
Do you have a cute photo of your child in a great cowboy outfit? The song
“Christmas for Cowboys” would work great. How about that picture of your pouting
daughter? Try “Nuttin' For Christmas“ as your title! A really obvious one would
be a lovely picture of your child with a little less than perfectly toothed
smile and the carol “All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth”. Make a
list of carols and then start pulling out those photos and of course have fun!

The growing popularity of painting cards,
scrapbook pages and other paper projects - while fun and exciting - was missing
a key component: how do you wash paper projects in sheer color that will not
curl paper? How can you tint photos without spending a tremendous amount of time
and money on oil paints? How can you get vellum in the perfect color? Keepsake
Colors is the answer to all of those questions.
