Scrapbooking Tip
|
Pumpkin carving might seem like an intimidating
venture for families with small children. Don't
worry, the knives can wait. Use your crafting
supplies to create stencils and more that can be
used for decorating your pumpkins. Little hands will
love finger painting, gluing and placing stickers on
their pumpkins. Don't forget to keep your camera
handy for recording the memories.

Welcome: I tend to put a lot on my
plate, and crafting has been no exception. Between gift
albums, holiday cards, birthday cards and my regular
scrapping, I often feel overwhelmed. It's during these
times that I have yet another list; not of things I NEED
to do, but rather of things I CAN do to stop feeling so
stressed. Among the items on that list are: journaling
and sketching. How do you keep from feeling overwhelmed?
Really take some time to think about it, especially with
the holidays approaching. Starting now is a great way to
ease some of the stress that comes with the holiday
season.
Happy Scrapping!

I can hear my teachers’ voices:
“Judy, pay attention. I want you to stop doodling right
this minute!” Throughout elementary school, I got into
trouble for drawing when I should have been thinking
about math or geography. Those were the days when
teachers commanded full attention, art was limited to
half an hour twice a week, and I spelled my name with a
“y” at the end. By seventh grade I’d switched to Judi,
discovered the joys of daily art classes, and learned
how to doodle while simultaneously appearing to be
listening to the teacher, a skill that serves me well to
this day during meetings.
