Welcome from the Editor

Jami picture

This is my favorite time of year and when I miss the Midwest the most. Although the seasons change here in California, autumn is not the same. I miss cuddling up in front of a fire on a chilly night, and bringing out the coats and blankets for the local football game. I miss the fresh, biting air and crunchy piles of leaves, hot apple cider and steaming bowls of chili in bright kitchens. Okay, I'm starting to get a little nostalgic, I better look for some plane tickets before I get too homesick.
I hope that all of you are enjoying the weather in your area and are using the time indoors to create something beautiful. If not, I know you'll find plenty of inspiration in the new November issue of the magazine. Go! Scrap! Win!

"Creating a military scrapbook gives others the opportunity to revel in the accomplishments and sacrifices made by the members of our armed forces. I have also found working on his album to be very therapeutic during times of deployments and lonely nights."

Give Thanks

article 1

Find photos of a special event or something or someone you are thankful for. It can be of a child, a pet, a niece or nephew, a friend, a sunset, a pile of leaves – anything that exemplifies your gratitude. From there, print the photos if they are digital. You can use more than one photo per layout so mix and match photos or print several of the same event or person. The idea is to create a page showing your gratitude. It can be as simple as a photo of your favorite person or several snapshots of nature.

Have Apron, Will Cook

"Cooking pages are pretty common nowadays so it’s always fun to find new ways to show off a favorite topic. In this layout, titled “Have Apron, Will Cook”, I thought it was a stroke of creative genius to incorporate pieces of nostalgic styled fabric throughout the layout. "

"It’s the holiday season folks, and I already have so many parties lined up and a gift list that could reach from here to the moon! If I don’t start planning now I’ll never get it all finished. But, thank goodness for my die-cut machine. It makes these holiday commitments easier to get through and that’s a wonderful thing since the holidays bring enough stress..."
