Welcome from the Editor

Jami pictureWow! Look at this amazing new newsletter, I am so impressed with the team at Scrapbooking.com Magazine for getting this together. I'd like to thank Jake Naylor, resident genius, for designing and making reality my dream newsletter. This new look is the result of a lot of hard work on his part and some vague, cryptic requests on mine. As you can imagine, he deserves most of the credit. So thank you Jake! I hope all of you love it as much as I do.

I also hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are ready to get into the holiday spirit. In the meantime, this is the last week to apply for our November contest. Entries are due by Friday, see the Layout Contest section for more information.

November is the month in which elections are held, we celebrate Veteran’s Day and Thanksgiving. It seems fitting that all three are in the same month, somehow. They are so intertwined. Without freedom, not much else matters - we choose our leaders, we mourn those fallen to keep us free and honor those who survived war with parades and speeches, then we gather in our homes bow our heads in gratitude, eat a bountiful meal (and watch football) with friends and family.

Trendy Gift Ideas
Article 2 image

I don’t always like to follow trends, some are too flashy, too cutesy, too ugly, or too “just not me”. However, I’ve found one trend that I am proud to follow and share with everyone. A hot trend right now is giving handmade gifts. I don’t know how much I’d actually consider it a trend since women have been sharing gifts from home for centuries.
