Blog of the Week:

Susanna Boyd: "Card of the Week.com" showcases the most creative examples of paper crafting from around the web. The site offers a resource for tutorials and holiday ideas on a daily basis. Tuesdays, I do "Crafting 101", where artists are featured and share some of the best paper crafting tutorials; Friday, I feature a Card of the Week, along with a favorite paper craft or two. Looking for scrapbooking inspiration? Stop by on Saturday."

Welcome from the Editor

Jami picture

It's almost the end of October, say it with me now: "Where does the time go?" Our video contest is almost half over and we're hoping to get a lot more submissions in before the end of November. If you've been thinking about creating a video but haven't yet, do it!

There are great prizes for the winners and the odds are with you. Check them out some of the entries by clicking here. Think you can do better? Give it your best "shot" and create a funny scene about scrapbooking.

Tip of the Week Featured Product Layout Contest

"Why is it that scrapbookers feel they have to create a completely original work of art with every page they scrapbook? This has been a struggle of mine for quite some time, dealing with the pressure to create. I have so many idea books and magazines; yet I'm afraid to "scraplift" any layouts. Scraplifting is the greatest form of flattery for a scrapbooker. There is no catch, except one rule of courtesy, which is to credit the person you scraplifted from. You would want the same thing done to you"

Once upon a time the vivid weaves and fabric in Rebagz™ handbags had another job. Some carried rice and grains around. Others were fruit juice packs – the kind you stick a straw in and slurp from. But after those jobs were done, these packs and sacks were just too colorful to throw away. So instead they're rescued and transformed into whimsical bags, handmade especially for you. Now just wear, enjoy - and recycle!

Grab your cameras and let’s see what you’ve got! The topic is scrapbooking, of course, and should be an easy target for some hilarious parodies. If you’re willing to laugh at yourself, we want you to participate. Write a script, a song, or opt for an impromptu in front of the camera. It’s your shtick, go out into the world and document the silly side of scrapbooking. Click here for more information on how to enter. . .

Ladybug

"One of my favorite seasons has to be autumn! The air is cool and crisp, leaves from the trees are scattered everywhere, and on Halloween night you can hear the giggle and squeals of excited children! Our family tradition for All Hallow’s Eve involves a long 3 or 4 hour journey that spans 2 states and 3 counties to visit grandparents! It is so fun to watch the kids and the adults interact as the girls trick-or-treat. My girls end up with a small sack of candy and books. I even get the treat of a home cooked dinner at the end of our journey! In this layout I captured my daughter as a ladybug!"

Family Star

"Professional photographer, Janine Walker of Northern Ireland, took the photo for this project and it is my absolute favorite family photo. I thought attaching an altered wooden star to our family photograph would make a perfect addition to my living room decorations."
