Carmen Thomas:
"Hello everyone! I am a happily married woman in love with a wonderful man and together we have 2 awesome children. I'm setting up this blog to see if this will spark my creative juices, share my life with family and make new friends. I love to scrap. I love to shop. I love to read mysteries written by women. I love to bake. I love all things cupcake, all things blingy, all things craft!!!"

Welcome from the Editor

Jami pictureOkay kids, this is the last week to enter our Funniest Scrapbook Video Contest. Entries are due by Sunday, see the Contest section for more information.

We are also looking for submissions from kids and teens. We want layouts and the stories that accompany them, created and written by clever youths. I'm sure a lot of you have creative children, teach them in schools or know talented teens in your community. Please pass on this information to anyone who might be interested. All aspiring young artists can contact us for more details. Thank you and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Tip of the Week Featured Product Layout Contest
tip of the week product

"While searching the internet one day, I found cards made with mailing labels. So, off to the office supply store I went! I picked up a variety of shaped labels, some with spaces between them, and some without. I love the results and would have never imagined that stamping on mailing labels could be so much fun, and so easy!"

Combine your photos, videos, audio and text to create stunning multimedia scrapbooks. 1: Create personalized scrapbooks with your photos, video and thousands of creative elements. 2: Share them online with our community, send them by email, or post them to your favorite websites. 3: Print your scrapblogs for a truly personalized keepsake for you or to give to others as a gift. In addition to sharing your scrapblogs online, you can also print books, postcards and greeting cards.

Grab your video cameras and let’s see what you’ve got! The topic is scrapbooking, of course, and should be an easy target for some hilarious parodies. Who says scrappers are a snore? If you’re willing to laugh at yourself, we want you to participate. It’s your shtick, go out into the world and document the silly side of scrapbooking.  Click for details on how to enter.

Countdown Calendars
article 1

"November for me always marks the beginning of the holiday season madness, gift shopping, card making and stocking up on groceries. One thing I love about this time of year is the countdown calendars. If you are counting down the run up to Christmas you’ll be aware of advent calendars which mark off the 25 days before Christmas day. These countdown calendars have come a long way since their German roots of a simple chalk line and candle lighting."

There Are No Mistakes
Article 2 image

"Tired of using your products in the same way over and over? Then break out your materials and put them to use in a whole new way. Why not try applying paint or ink with something out of the ordinary, mixing mediums, or creating your own 3 dimensional elements? Don't be afraid to layer ink and paint, use a hair brush to apply a coat of paint, cut out intricate patterned paper designs to alter to your desire, or even add layer upon layer of all those fun embellishments you’ve been saving for just the right layout."
