Blog of the Week:
Nelly Lutte: "My blog is short and to the point with images being a favorite thing to fill it with, be it with my own work or others'. Enjoying the eye candy from other creative bloggers, I wanted to return the favor and help inspire others and fulfill yet another creative outlet for myself as well."

Welcome from the Editor

Jami picture

This is my favorite time of year and when I miss the Midwest the most. Although the seasons change here in California, autumn is not the same. I miss cuddling up in front of a fire on a chilly night, and bringing out the coats and blankets for the local football game. I miss the fresh, biting air and crunchy piles of leaves. I miss hot apple cider and steaming bowls of chili in bright kitchens. Okay, I'm starting to get a little nostalgic. *sniff*
I hope that all of you are enjoying the weather in your area and are using the time indoors to create something beautiful. If not, I know you'll find plenty of inspiration in the new November issue of Scrapbooking.com magazine. Enjoy!

Tip of the Week Featured Product Layout Contest
product

"If you’ve ever written a book – or even a school report – chances are you’ve used an outline as your jumping board. You can use a similar tool in your scrapbooking. Whether you’re in a rut, looking for a simple solution to your page, or just on the lookout for a fresh approach, sketches can be your most powerful tool. Perhaps the best thing about sketches is their versatility."

If you love the decorative edge of die-cut cardstock but hate wasting an entire sheet of cardstock, Bazzill Basics Paper has the answer. Just the Edge papers are 12″ long strips that vary in width. Choose from several colors of cardstock, all which feature 10 new whimsical designs. 20 pieces per pack (2 ea. of 10 shapes).

Grab your cameras and let’s see what you’ve got! The topic is scrapbooking, of course, and should be an easy target for some hilarious parodies. If you’re willing to laugh at yourself, we want you to participate. It’s your shtick, go out into the world and document the silly side of scrapbooking. Journaling on Transparencies

"Do you like your journaling to jump off the page or blend in? Either preference works with this technique: transparency journaling. Using clear accents on pages allows you to cast your journaling as the star of the show or just another element in your design scheme. This method is simple when you use your computer and printer."
