Welcome from the Editor

Jami pictureI know you are all busying yourselves preparing for the upcoming holiday. We have great ideas for gift giving, party favors and even those pesky holiday cards that never seem to end. It's easy to get overwhelmed so don't forget to take time for yourself during this mad rush. Set aside a half hour every day to do something creative - even if it's holiday related. Try your hand designing place cards for the table or simply put a few pictures onto a pre-made layout page. It's therapeutic and you'll feel like you're accomplishing a lot. No, wrapping presents does not count - unless you're really good at making your own bows. It's a skill.

Tip of the Week Featured Product Layout Contest
tip of the week product contest

"One of my favorite things to do with my scrapbook and paper art projects is to use acrylic paint on them. Paint can be used for creating titles with foam stamps, aging paper with a dry-brushing technique, changing the color of metal embellishments, and adding a pop of color to highlight an element or photo."

Each month, Club Scrap® produces a cohesive collection of exclusive, premium quality, original, textured papers that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. They'll lavish you with a new theme of rich, luxurious papers that coordinate with stamps, stencils or stickers, idea recipe cards, goodies and the Scrap Rap newsletter. We'll satisfy your hunger for new scrapbooking inspiration by including loads of ideas, techniques, and projects in the ingredients.

The closing of 2008 is drawing near. It's time to take stock of all the events you've experienced in the past year. Celebrate the milestones by creating a layout that represents the "year in review". Use this time before the holiday rush to reflect and create. Submit the results for a chance to win great prizes from top manufacturers. Click for details on how to enter.

Winter
article 1

"Every month, when I go to pay my electric bill, I pass by this cold, lonely looking windmill standing stately next to a worn and fallen old pump building. On this particular day, it was snowing big fat snowflakes and the wind was blowing just enough to make the fan turn on the old mill. I turned my van around and flew back home to get my camera, hoping to be able to capture that same look when I returned. Since I live in northern Indiana, the weather can change in a heartbeat and I was taking my chances! Luckily, I made it back without the weather changing and I wasn't disappointed with the results."

Altered Jumbo Clip
Article 2 image

"Jumbo clips are oversized clothespins that will "artfully" hold photos, notes, or even small scrapbook pages on a desk or shelf. This project uses paper and embellishments from a kit to create a one-of-a-kind Note Holder for a calendar page. This altered clip makes the perfect holiday decoration for your desk or table."
