 Welcome from the Editor

I get a cozy feeling just thinking about harvest time. Pumpkins, cider and falling leaves are few of my favorite things this time of year. Artists are documenting their visions of the season; you can find some great examples of our favorite fall projects here. Robyn Schaub also contributed two cute and colorful layouts in honor of the fall season. And spice up your home décor with the Recycled Fall Frame, an easy ode to autumn.

"Here’s a unique photo tip that just might benefit the entire family. If you’re tired of seeing your kids dragging themselves through school and hating every moment of it, trying giving them a "photo boost." It makes a fun weekend project, and your children just may learn that studying—with the right approach—can actually be fun. "

Tragic Magic, the next scrapbooking mystery from Laura Childs. The book takes readers back to New Orleans, where there are spookies, foodies—and crafty killers. Carmela, owner of Memory Mine scrapbook shop, and her best friend have a big project converting an old mansion into an unforgettable haunted house. But when Carmela’s client turns up dead, she finds herself in some deep gumbo again.

"It all happened when I put the photo on the paper one night – somewhere between 12:00-3:00 am the city appeared – all made from inks, squares and rectangles, full of shadows, monochromatic and a bit disintegrated. The title came from one of our favorite songs – “Lost in the city” – sometimes I think this city is also somehow lost… "

Surveys: Enter for a Chance to Win!
survey prize

Complete this week's survey about layout preferences to win Playing with Pictures, The Art of Victorian Photocollage by Elizabeth Siegel. This delightful book, the first to examine comprehensively the little-known phenomenon of Victorian photocollage, presents imagery that has rarely—and, in many cases, never—been displayed or reproduced. Illuminating text provides a history of Victorian photocollage albums, which paved the way for the future avant-garde potential of both photography and collage.

 Being Thankful
Article 2 image

"Thanksgiving is such a special time of year. It is a time when we take a moment to sit back and look at all that we are grateful for. We are all grateful for different things, but I am willing to bet that we all have one thing in common that we are thankful for....our families. Each family is so special and they make our lives so wonderful. Take this time to scrap about a loved one and remember why they are so special. I chose to scrap about one of the most special people in my life...my sister in law. I am so blessed to have a wonderful sister in law. She is such a fabulous mother, wife, and friend. I am thankful that she is in my life and I hope she will always know how much she means to our family."
