Blog of the Week:

Bethany Kartchner: "I began blogging as a means of connecting with other scrapbookers and with family, but I've found that the act of blogging, of giving a voice to those fleeting moments that would otherwise go unnoticed, has been a great teacher. I've learned that life is full of beauty, full of humor, full of happiness that will remain in my heart forever."

"Start planning for the upcoming year of special events so you’ll be organized and ahead of the game. You don’t have to stress because tomorrow is someone’s birthday and you forgot. Make a calendar of special events to hang in a central place where the whole family can see what’s coming up. Your husband won’t even have an excuse not to remember your anniversary."

 Scrapbooking the Everyday Moments
article 1

"One of the things I am most passionate about is scrapbooking the everyday moments. Not just what and where but how I feel about the person in the photo at that time. My grandmother helped raise me and passed away as my oldest was born. I had so many questions and no one to ask. My grandmother left many photographs behind and there is no one to tell me who they were and why she kept their photos. I use my scrapbook pages as a living legacy, to remind my kids they are loved and to remember even the smallest but significant everyday moments."

 Earth Love Gift Set
Article 2 image

"I have always loved to create gift assortments for family, friends and my husband's teaching staff (which includes 55 certificated and classified employees). With the current economy, it is sometimes easy to cut back on our scrapbooking budgets because we can "tell the story" when the economy turns around. However, I truly believe that it is during times like these, when we should, all, hold onto our creative outlets and find creative ideas to "gift our scraps" rather than let them accumulate or go to waste. With very little supplies, you can create gift tins, wraps, magnets, notepads, cards, mugs - the possibilities are endless."
