      Welcome from the Editor

Jami picture

A great way to refresh the spirit is to take a break from the real world and just get away. Vacations are a perfect example, and this month we are encouraging just that, even if it’s just a trip to your craft area to scrap a page about your favorite escape. Several artists have contributed their personal holiday pages, check out Jean Marmo, who used the rule of three for a successful page. While Susan Zennario went wild with the amount of pictures she used, showing us how to use several images and still have great layout.

"Digital stamps, also called masks or transparencies, are a simple and beautiful way to add interest to the focal photo of your layout. They’re especially effective when placed above photos that have lots of open areas with little detail (white space)."

Daylight’s™ popular portable lamp now comes with an ingenious Easy-Twist™ shade for maximum light angle & maximum work space! This means you can achieve the best color matching ever with the sensational light delivered by Daylight’s™ 13w energy saving tube.  With Daylight™ technology there is absolutely no strobe effect so eyestrain is reduced and potential headaches are eliminated.

New clothes and shoes, fresh backpacks and lunchboxes, tummies full of butterflies – it can only mean one thing. It’s back to school time! Share your grade “A” work in this month’s layout contest. It’s the most enjoyable assignment you’ll ever get so enter today! Click here for more information about this month's contest.

"This was the most amazing day, and I knew as I was taking the pictures what an awesome page they were going to make. This page brings back some really great memories for me. My son, who was just over one at the time, could not yet walk on his own. My husband and I thought it would be neat to see how he felt with his feet in the sand for the first time. To our pleasant surprise he absolutely loved it and I think his beautiful smile says it all."

''One of my favorite things to do is to go to the beach. I love to walk along the surf, look for special treasures and feeling the waves creep up the beach to wet my feet. Whenever I get the chance to go I am on it, and this day was a last minute planned trip with my grandkids. I took my camera and sat in the sand and snapped away at the fun they were having playing in the surf."
