Donna Coughlin: "My blog was started because I want to share my scrapbook layouts with my friends and family, and to inspire other scrapbookers, but it has also been a way to meet new friends along the way.. I also like to tell about techniques I’ve been trying or using. Right now a lot of my layouts are of our 2009 Disney trip, which I like to use “non-traditional” Disney papers and embellishments, but still come up with that Disney feel. I hope you enjoy looking at my blog."

      Welcome from the Editor

Jami picture

A few months ago, I hopped a plane to Japan to begin a new chapter. I assumed that the transition would be an easy one but here I am still feeling lost and unacclimated. I keep thinking that I’m going to get the hang of this eventually, but it has been difficult so far. However, there are several things that keep my spirits buoyed - the artwork that we receive here on a daily basis being one. The talent and creativity of our submitting artists constantly amazes me. I am so grateful to be able to share this work with the world; it is what drives me. I can always immerse myself in art and come out feeling refreshed and ready for whatever life has to throw at me. In art I find my redemption from all the trials of the world.

"Using Fourth of July embellishments and papers on my layout was obvious to me when thinking about my daughter and the freedom she would receive once she quit using her pacifier. I knew doing this digital layout would be a lot easier for me than for the ordeal she was going to encounter giving up her favorite comfort."

"My sister-in-law always plans special things for our holiday events. It’s especially wonderful when we can attend as a family. My husband is active duty Air Force and is typically deployed for almost every holiday that appears on a calendar: Christmas, Valentines Day, anniversaries and even our son’s first birthday. Celebrating with him is always an occasion to be thankful for, especially when it’s in honor of the birth of our nation!"

Article 2 image

''Have you ever had a beautiful picture that you wanted to display in more than one place in your home? This picture of my daughter, taken by my husband, spoke to my inner soul; but every flat surface cannot have a frame. Thus, I created this altered loom as another way to display treasured pictures."
