Blog of the Week

Lindsay Wahl: "My blog features mostly scrapbook layouts. I use a simple style, with a lot of 4"x 6" photos and double page layouts. Occasionally, you will also see some other crafts that I've been working on!"

Summer is beginning to wane as the hot August weather gives an excuse to duck indoors for some back-to-school shopping. Whether this time of year is a happy or sad event, no doubt the excitement of a new beginning is cause for some camera snapping. Perhaps this is the first time you are sending your baby away on the big yellow school bus or maybe this is a familiar routine for you. Either way, the first day of school is a special occasion for every parent and child. Celebrate this rite of passage by keeping it forever in your heart and in your scrapbook.

"Like every mother in the world, I love taking pictures of my daughter's first day at school. She is always so happy beginning a new year, it means a lot to her. So I decided to scrap that first day every year, and make an album just to remember every little smile and the fun she had. Someday we will remember those days together!"

Lesley Riley’s TAP™ Transfer Artist Paper from C&T Publishing includes 18 Iron-on Image Transfer Sheets. Documenting personal history is an important part of scrapbooking. Lend a voice to those who never had the opportunity by creating pages to celebrate their legacy. "I bought this adorable canvas album and immediately had a million and one ideas about what special project I wanted to save it for. Sometimes when I have something I feel is extra special, I want to save it for “just the right occasion.” When I used my canvas mini album, it felt good, and I love the way it turned out. The moral of the story…Make every day a special occasion; create something beautiful that you love!"
