Blog of the Week

Susan Zennario: "my blog, Paper Daisy Dreams, is a place for me to showcase all of my latest scrapbooking creations. I would say its 90% scrapbooking, 10% ramblings about my family, kids, work and life as I know it. I love receiving comments and have made quite a few good friends through the blog world!"

      Welcome from the Editor

Wherever you are in your life today, many of us would not be where we are without the help and inspiration of teachers. It only seems natural that teachers would be the subject of paper projects throughout the magazine this month. Starting with our feature, aptly named “Teacher Appreciation”, artists express their appreciation for these influential figures. Other artists chose to honor teachers with a gift of art, Lollie Chessie created a flowery sentiment to say thanks for all you do. And Melissa Samuels becomes the teacher and inspires us to create something beautiful everyday.

"Using 30-second voice recorders from My Pages Talk, create these darling teacher magnets. They make a perfect gift and hey, no need for a card here, your child can record a special message for the teacher they like best! The voice recorders come with an acid-free paper cover so you can decorate it any way you choose - stamp it, ink it, paint it and embellish it!"

Unibind has added new designs and colors to its popular MyBook Do-It-Yourself Photobook line. Rather than sending loose individual prints of an event to friends and family members, up to 10 prints can be quickly assembled into a beautiful hardcover photobook to become a treasured memory. Using the simple system, anyone can create an appealing professional-looking keepsake.

Documenting personal history is an important part of scrapbooking. Lend a voice to those who never had the opportunity by creating pages to celebrate their legacy. For your subject, use a long-lost relative, or a direct ancestor, or perhaps you’d even like to make up a fictional character and record their imaginary life. Click here for more information...

Italia Scrapbook Page in a Frame
article 1

"When scrapbooking to preserve our memories, we often worry about archival issues and storage of our beloved finished pages. I usually try to keep my pages quite flat to avoid the difficulty of storing bulky pages inside page protectors. Also, after moving to Italy, I found it increasingly difficult to find all the latest scrapbooking supplies. Given my new situation, I decided to change the rules and create a scrapbook page in a frame! With a less restrictive format, I was able to create a beautiful layout to capture my memories while incorporating a variety of items."
