As much as we all love hand-crafting and creating one-of-a-kind cards for family and friends, sometimes it’s a lot more practical to use a computer to make larger quantities of cards, either to give as gift sets, or to mail out yourself. The plethora of clip art available, such as the CDs from Vintage Workshop, can be used in many ways to create your valentines this year.
This card is created by printing the image right onto the cardstock that forms the card base. Adding embellishments such as glitter, rickrack, buttons, charms, tiny embossed images, postage stamps, and really, anything you can think of, will give a computer-generated card some depth and dimension.
The next two cards use foam tape to elevate selected areas of the background design in order to create visual interest.
Try creating a digital collage with various clip art elements, such as in this next design. Create your own visual elements for a card by pairing up various clip art images.
These cards can be as simple or as elaborate as you’d like. Try multiple layers, use a fabric flower to highlight a printed flower, or get glitzy with rhinestones and sequins!
