It’s a great time to be a stamper and a paper crafter. There’s nothing I love better than spending an hour or so scouring the scrapbook stores for new papers and clever embellishments to use in my cards and paper projects. I tried scrapping once, but it just never clicked for me. My esteemed editor/publisher, therefore, challenged me to use only materials one would find in a scrapbooking store to create some cards. So, I put aside my beloved stamps and put together four cards.
The first card is a joyful expression of joy autumn...the leaves start turning, the kitchen is humming with baking pies, and the days grow cooler. I just love spending time outdoors this time of year and breathing in the crisp air while I’m picking apples or pumpkins.
Coordinating papers from assorted lines of scrapbook companies can come together well, as in the following card. Using stickers of assorted sizes eliminates the need to cut various layers, thus saving you time when it comes to assembly.
This project uses cardstock, scrapbook paper and vellum in layers to create a full, yet simple card.
Inspired by a recent western wedding I attended, this project finds texture from the simple technique of crumpling paper and adding a couple of well-placed pop-up Glue Dots.
Challenge yourself to make some cards with only a select group of supplies. You’ll surprise yourself!
