From roses and daisies to lilies and pansies, flowers brighten our lives in the springtime. I sometimes think we survive winter simply to enjoy the flowers of spring. With so much beauty around us, it just seems natural that we incorporate the wonders of nature into our scrapbooks and paper crafts. Now that spring is here, let’s look at different types of flower embellishments and how they can be used in your crafts.

Bright pinks, greens, and yellows bring this colorful layout to life. All of the products used in this layout were just released at CHA Winter by Bo Bunny Press. The Precious Petals Silk Flowers are 3-dimensional silk flowers with a coordinating button and ribbon in the center. The flowers come in large to small sizes and can be mixed and matched to complement colors and styles.

Using Making Memories Blossoms is a simple way to add flowers to your layouts. They come in three different styles, assorted colors, and both large and small sizes. Here green and cream Blossoms are mixed together. The center of the flower is made with a clear Gem Sticker, also from Making Memories.

If you celebrate Easter, you’re probably familiar with the excitement of getting a new Easter dress. This sentiment is captured in a graceful mix of photos, patterned paper, distressed chipboard letters, and flowers. Flower embroidered paper with clay bug accents from Zim’s Paperspectives delicately span the bottom of the layout. Yellow silk flowers are attached throughout the layout with yellow brads to form the tops to each of the journaling tags.

If you are looking for a big splash of color, you’ll love this layout. Hip Paisley and Hip Stripe Patterned Paper blend perfectly with an assortment of fibers, all from Creative Imaginations. The same colors are added with Friendship Metal Words and an amazing Cool Turquoise BIG Flower Brad. That’s right, it’s a brad and a really BIG one. Here’s a unique flower that can be added to brighten your layouts with color, style, and a touch of metal.

Soft spring colors and stamped flowers are used in this layout. The flowers on the title banner are stamped with pink acrylic paint. The larger flowers are stamped onto white paper and cut out each with a flower punch center and a die cut stem. Flower buttons are added to the photo mat and a strip of flower patterned paper is layered across the bottom of the layout.

Spring’s sweet return is gladly welcomed by everyone, including the birds. The artist here caught a bird resting on a birdhouse one sunny day. Using Janlynn Corp.’s 12” x 12” Sanook Paper Scrapper’s Pack, die cuts and stamped words comprise this spring layout. Two paper flowers are attached for the tag tops, completing the layout.

Paper flowers and Janlynn Corp.’s Scrapper’s Pack are used to create these cards. The first card simply uses the paper flowers with a button center to add color and dimension. The second card uses the flowers to decorate a tag. The centers of the flowers are adorned with silver brads. An interesting shadow effect is created by placing a white die cut tag as the background of the black tag, which is attached at a slight angle.

Enjoy nature this spring! Add silk, metal, paper, and stamped flowers to sweeten some of your projects.
