Scrapbook supplies can be used to create cool projects your kids will love. With the hours and hours your kids will spend traveling in the car or an airplane, why not help them create a Quiet Box that is full of their favorite travel games and art supplies. Designer Chia Wald created this fun project th kid's are sure to enjoy. Here’s what you’ll need:
Supplies:
Cigar box
Patterned Papers (Making Memories)
Stickers (The Paper Loft)
Glue (Art Institute Designer Dries Clear Glue)
Scissors
Ruler
Pencil
Drill
Mod Podge (Plaid)
Paint Brush
Foam Board
Laminating film
Black Marker
Craft Knife
Handle & Latch
Re-Writables Dry Erase Markers (BOONE / Acco Brands)
To start, mark the location where the handle will be and pre-drill holes. If your kids are helping, an adult will need to do the drilling for safety.
Glue patterned papers and colorful stickers to the inside and outside of the cigar box. Some box lids fit so tightly that it may be necessary to sand the edges before applying paper to ensure the lid will close.
Brush a protective coat of Mod Podge over all the surfaces.
Attach handle and latch. You can have your child personalize the box with an assortment of colorful stickers.
Fill with your child’s favorite quiet toys and games. Make a “white board” by applying clear laminating film to a piece of foam board. To create a Tic-Tac-Toe board, draw a grid onto the foam board prior to applying the laminating film. Use Dry-Erase markers to write on the laminated surface. You can also fill the box with small toys, stickers and other art supplies to keep your kids entertained for hours.
Another game idea you can make with your kids is this Domino Box designed by Chris Herrmann. This lightweight box will fit perfectly into carry-on bags, backpacks and car seat pockets. To make your box you will need the following:

Frayed Burlap Distress Ink Pads
Heat tool
Mat board
Espresso marker
Dimensional glue

Crush whole sheet of dominos. Drag Scattered Straw, direct to paper, across crushed sheet. Spray with fine mist of water. Dry with heat tool. Repeat dragging with Frayed Burlap. Spray and dry with heat tool.

If desired, you can decorate the back of the dominos with various stickers. You can also cover the dots on each domino with dimensional glue and set aside to dry. To complete, apply the round train sticker to cover of box. For other themes, try travel, vacation or sports stickers for decoration.
