Since you’re busy making the cards why not alter a box for your child to take the cards to school in? A simple gift box can be brightened up with patterned paper, stickers, die cuts and ribbon to make a strong statement. Plus, once you've handed out all your cards, it's empty and available for receiving cards and gifts too!

There are lots of love themed embellishments these days but also remember to look outside the scrapbooking aisles! I found these gold heart brads in the office supply section of a grocery store. To use on the transparency I simply raided my husband’s toolbox and cut off the brads 'wings' with snips and attached to the card with a glue dot. The gold heart with the gold cardstock, thread and ink really makes this card come together!

I have to say I am a sucker for flowers on cards. The really can add the perfect accent. If the flower seems a little harsh, maybe too white like the one on this card originally did, simply take your ink pad and add some ink to the edges. Inking the edges of the card and flower with gold ink, along with the gold vellum, gold pen, and gold accents creates unity in a card.

If you are looking for something for a more traditional card for that special someone in your life, for a husband, or fiancé, look for papers from Basic Grey. Their papers really work well for this type of project. The distressed paper and soft subtle designs really makes the card age right before you're eyes. Pull coordinating colors from the papers, and team it with brown inks and gold accents for a card that says “I love you” with all your heart.
