Tropical Vacations
By Cheryl Kelly-Van Domelen
My
family and I love to travel, and since Wisconsin winters can be long, we usually like to go on tropical vacations. It’s no surprise that my favorite topic to scrapbook is my daughter enjoying herself on
vacation! It’s always fun to journal about the
vacation so you can capture the little details that may be forgotten later. The photo in the “Wonderful” layout is taken in Montego Bay, Jamaica in May 2007. The photos in the other layouts are from our December 2007
vacation to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Of course, the beautiful girl in all the photos is my daughter, Payton.
Road Trips
By Patti Hamil
I remember this awesome Route 66
vacation we took back in 1973. I used vintage looking patterned papers and embellishments to maintain the theme of the layout. This is a great tip to remember when working with any older photos. My second layout is of a recent
vacation we took to the
beach. It was a simple layout to create but helps us remember what a great time we had on that
vacation.
Fun in the Sun
By Sandy Pool
These layouts are a mere four of about four-hundred photos from one week at the cottage last
summer. Sporadically, from time to time I'll think back on the wonderful week and print off a picture to do a page about and
reminisce about the great time we had. The rest of the photos will have to wait until another moment arises or if I ever get organized enough I may give one of those photo books a try. In the meantime, with the exception of one picture of me and my wonderful pup, I think I managed to capture the essence of our
vacation. A few choice pictures of my daughter and husband at different times and I have enough to prompt endless amounts of memories every time I look at them.
Disney World
By Susan Zennario
In celebration of my 40th
birthday, my boyfriend took me to Walt
Disney World for 5 days so that I could see the “World” all decked out for the holidays! I love anything
Disney so this was the best
birthday gift! I had a button indicating that it was my
birthday and the CastMembers were always wishing me a Happy
Birthday. Such Fun! While we were visiting the Japan Pavilion in EPCOT we were just in time to see a demonstration by taffy artist Miyuki Sugimori. This layout features her working her Taffy magic. Miyuki is the only female to have mastered the art of “Amezaiku” (Japanese Candy Artist). As she was doing her demonstration she repeatedly said the words “Taffy, Yum”, which is where I came up with the title for this layout.
