Yes! This is what you’ve all been waiting for! The final five top-ten tips by yours truly! I know you’ve been anxiously waiting and I don’t want to keep you in suspense any longer, so here they are…drum roll please!

6. Keep Current. A current trend is tearing and curling. It’s easy once you get the hang of it and remember it’s all in the hands. Tearing towards you will give you a rough edge with the fibers showing. Try reverse tearing (away from you) it will give you the rough look with out the “white edge”. Now lightly curl the edges of the paper to give it dimension and a worn look.

7. Add Dimension to Your Project. Chalk can give an ethereal dimension to any page as well as adding depth. Besides the obvious uses, try chalking the edges of torn paper. You can also use ink and a make-up sponge to stain and define the outer edges of pages and photo frames. For even more dimension, crumple and distress your pages. Be creative – delve deep. 8. Pick a color family. Certain colors just look great together. Use your color wheel if you haven’t got an eye for color. You can also go with a monochromatic scheme – different shades of the same color. All My Memories has assembled five color families that can be mixed with each other with this in mind. Remember that keeping like colors together is always a hit!

9. Journaling is Key. A picture is worth a thousand words, and just a few of those words can answer a thousand questions. Remember that you are not the only person who will look at your albums. You are preserving your photos for your posterity. They will only become a treasure if the who, what, where, when and how are there to help answer the whys of your life. I love to use my computer or stamps to journal. Keep it simple and tell the story.

10. Add Pizzazz. Using dimension on a page is always an eye-catcher! Who wants a flat, blah scrapbook? Sometimes all it takes is a button or bow, other times it’s something more dramatic -- like a mini-photo album. It’s all up to you! Just remember, this is where you can shine as an artist and use your flair for creating.

So there you have it! My top ten tips for successful scrapbooking. I hope they help simplify your scrapbooking and add more enjoyment to a hobby that has such far-reaching meaning to your life.

Happy Scrapping!
