This page was created as a result of a heritage challenge to scrap some photos from your past which your parents/grandparents might have taken which made you say “huh?” or “why?” These are some old photos of news events that my grandmother/mother took from their old black and white television.

Journaling reads: “When I went through all my old family photos that Mom gave me, I found 54 photos that Grandma and Mom took of the television set. At first, I thought, "huh"? Why would they take so many photos of the TV set? After I started weeding through the photos a little more closely, I realized just how priceless these photos were. They were history in the making - stuff that my grandparents and my mom lived through, i.e. Billy Graham preaching, Kennedy being shot, his funeral, the Ed Sullivan Show, man walking on the moon. This was their way of scrapping history for me, which really is not any different than I am doing for my kids. These photos are priceless to me because they were important to my Grandma and Mom - they were their life.”
