Then do something for the good of your fellow human beings and get involved in finding the cure!

A super fun way to do just that is to join Ever After Scrapbook’s SURVIVOR CROP 2009 taking place on October 17-18, 2009. Every scrapbooker wants an excuse to spend 24 fun-filled hours with like-minded scrappers, completing those unfinished projects, putting together upcoming holiday gifts, participating in the most fun and silly games and contests imaginable, hanging out with friends both old and new, eating all kinds of goodies – all for the good of finding a cure, so here’s your opportunity - don’t pass it by! Scrapbooking.com Magazine's Jami Petersen will hostess the silent auction. So much fun stuff - and there's plenty of scrappin' space left, so register today!

You can find all the information about Survivor Crop 2009 by going to www.scrapbooks.info, but here’s the scoop in a nutshell. The Survivor theme is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the TV reality show, so Survivor Crop participants join (or start) a team called an Island. The goal is to raise money for breast cancer education and research, so fundraising is a part of the event. Luckily, this worthy cause is well established and people are very willing to donate to the Susan G. Komen For The Cure foundation. Participants must bring a minimum $100 donation to Susan G. Komen For The Cure. This money stays in San Diego with the foundation’s local affiliate. The cost of a mammogram for an uninsured woman is $125, so feel free to kick your donation up a notch and help someone who otherwise might not get the preventive test that could save her life.

For the first time ever, Komen For The Cure has set up a website for Survivor Crop participants to easily and electronically collect donations. Each participant has his/her own web page in which friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, etc. can quickly make a donation – anytime, anywhere.

There are lots of incentives for those with competitive tribal instincts, so don’t stop at the minimum! The more donations each participant brings in, the more prizes they receive at the event. For instance, the “500 Club” is an incentive program to encourage participants to raise a minimum of $500. The “Ultimate Survivor” at the event is the person who raises the MOST money for Komen for the Cure!

The entrance fee is just $125. The event fee covers the rental of the facility, four meals, an event t-shirt and tote bag, loads of drinks and snacks, an awesome mini-class, and 24 hours of scrapbooking fun. And, if you can’t make it to the event, but still want to help, contact Ever After Scrapbooks about volunteering your time to prepare for the event. Don’t delay, visit www.scrapbooks.info and register for this scrapbooker’s paradise, then start collecting those donations and help make a difference!
