First, grab your supplies:
- Cardstock: Core’dinations
- Distressing tool
- Glitter: Stickles (Ranger Industries)
- Hole punch
- Ribbon
- Sanding block
- Scissors
This is the first one I made, but I think it's my favorite. Here’s how you can make one:
1. Cut out a few different sized circles of color-core cardstock, preferably imperfect
2. Crumple the circles in your hand as small as you can
3. Smooth the circles out flat and run a sanding block over the top, exposing the core just on the creases of the cardstock
4. Use a distressing tool around the edges of the circles, further defining the core color
5. Layer the circles and punch two holes next to each other in the center
6. Guide a ribbon through the holes and tie in a knot
7. For a little extra definition and sparkle, apply Stickles around the edges and/or ribbon
For some more traditional looking flowers I used my Cricut cartridges “George and Basic Shapes” and “Storybook”. I used the same basic sanding and layering method, though with these I didn’t crumple and distress.
The possibilities for creating these flowers are endless! Curl the petals, paint the Stickles on, change the center, anything you want to customize your own flowers for your paper-crafting projects.
