I love looking back and somewhat “reliving” my glory days. As the journaling says on the page, “a lot of my best memories from high school came on the volleyball court.” Although I can’t always capture the emotions and feelings I had back then, I do want to remember those days, and what better way to do so than to scrap about them. More importantly, I want to remember the times that I had with my teammates, and this page shows some of that.

Volleyball Memories

Intermediate Project

I entered a scrapbooking contest, and when I found out what our first challenge was, I immediately knew what I wanted to do. The challenge was to scrap about something we love. I have so many photos of me playing volleyball from Jr. High up through college, and since volleyball is definitely something I love, that’s what I wanted to scrap. Because I have so many photos, I wanted to do a layout that held multiple photos of me playing volleyball throughout the years. I found the perfect template to document many multiple photos, and some volleyball stick figures (which were super easy to recolor) and I was able to create the layout I wanted about the game I love.

I Love This Game

I was looking through some of my old photos one day, and came across this one. Immediately I had to laugh because it reminded me of the days when I wasn’t old enough to play volleyball on a team, but my two sisters were. I remember being so jealous of them, and wanting one of those pink jerseys for myself. I wanted to document this picture and I knew I had the perfect volleyball elements that I could recolor to match the pink jerseys. It was fun to reflect and think back on those times.

I have always enjoyed scrapbooking, photography, and anything digital. I had scrapbooked for many years, and discovered Photoshop about 5 years ago. I decided I wanted to start my own business designing graduation, wedding, birth announcements, etc, so I did. I have been able to do that for the past 5 years and recently discovered digital scrapbooking. Though I had known it existed for a while, it wasn’t until a year ago that I actually decided to take the plunge. I haven’t looked back. I learn new things every time I scrapbook and I find that I can use those techniques when it comes to designing announcements and invitations. I have also been able to turn my designs into templates and sell them at both Scrapable and Enchanted Studio Scraps. I design under the BTA Designs, and my design site is btadesigns.com, but most of my scrapbooking can be found on my blog at btaphotography.blogspot.com. I am the wife to my wonderful husband of nearly 5 years and we are currently residing in Utah where I do photography, design, and coach volleyball at the local high school. I am so excited to be published in the Scrapbooking.com magazine.
