I wanted to use a big tree on this layout, since we got engaged under a tree which has a special meaning to us. I love trees and enjoy thinking of new ways in which to use them on layouts. A woodgrain stamp and a woodgrain transparency, as well as various ‘love’ related stamps, word stickers and embellishments were used to add to the theme of love and growth. The layout was also inspired by the ‘101 things you can do with your scrapbook supplies’ challenge on Two Peas in a Bucket, based on Jennifer McGuire’s book with the same name. The challenge was to distress rub-ons by applying them to textured paper and then sanding over them. Other techniques used on the layout include stamping, hand stitching and glimmer mist.

I am Anna-Karin Evaldsson and I have been papercrafting since 2002 and scrapbooking since 2004. I’ve done various arts and crafts my whole life, but scrapbooking is the one that has totally captured my heart and mind and has become more of a lifestyle than a hobby. I absolutely love to play with photos, stamps, paper, ink, paint, words and colours. Apart from telling stories, my favourite part is to play with different techniques, to experiment and try different products and tools. I also love to make cards. My husband and I are at the moment happily awaiting the birth of our first child. Not much longer now.
