Sometimes a photo from behind an athlete, showing the game from their line of sight, tells a great story. Our son started playing indoor soccer last fall and enjoys playing almost all of the positions. I was lucky enough to capture this photo of his body language during his first (and last!) stint as goalie. The picture so perfectly shows his feelings about tending goal that an enlarged photo and a caption were nearly all that this layout needed. The next time you’ve got a good story-telling photo, let it shine with a simple layout.

The Joys of Tending Goal

The Griffins are a local hockey team in Grand Rapids, MI. My husband buys a package of tickets each season not only to contribute to our area's economy but because he loves hockey. He gets so giddy at hockey games. It is fun to witness his excitement. This hockey game was no exception that hockey makes him happy.

My oldest son wanted to try out a new sport last spring, so when a local group put on a soccer camp for a week I immediately signed him up. Each day we sat there for 2 1/2 hours watching hundreds of boys and girls learning how to kick the ball. It was a great time taking pictures from the sidelines. I have been trying to put more pictures on my scrapbook layouts and because of all the pictures I take at events like this I needed to design a page where more than 1 picture could be the design element of the page. I grouped 4 pictures into a square and cropped them as I needed to. I added the rub on embellishments and brads for added emphasis of the idea of "kicking the soccer balls".
