I used to scrapbook when I was young and still at home, many moons ago. But, back then scrapping and paper art was not the in thing to do. In my small town, you could not find the fantastic supplies that have been available for the last 10 or so years. So, I completely lost interest in scrapbooking and paper artwork, until a co-worker invited me to join your scrapbook magazine newsletter back in 2003. Your magazine got me back into scrapbooking and art. I love the tips, wonderful layout examples, the supply lists and the wonderful little notes from you that feel like you are talking to an old friend. Thanks to you and your crew, I have been scrapping strong since then. I just wanted to let you know that you inspire us more than you may know.

When I first heard of scrapbooking, I thought it was the worst thing I had ever heard of. I knew that back in the day, we put paper articles in a book and kept them and that was what we called scrapbooking. I said to a friend who told me about scrapping “that’s what we did” and I made fun of scrapbookers sometimes called “scrappers”. Then she showed me one of her scrapbooks. So I thought I would investigate the craft and I went to the library, took out a few books on scrapbooking and I fell in love with this craft. I now think that scrapbooking is the most wonderful thing I have ever heard of. I have made books for each one of my five children, from birth to adulthood. I have made one for my mother, myself, my youngest daughter Christina, in fact, I am on the third book for each of us. I have made one for the pets that Christina has. I have always liked to take a lot of pictures and have quite a few family albums dating over a span of some years, learning about embellishments, colors scheme, die cuts and stickers used in all the pages I have made, it is glorious. I have designed pages in a scrapbook of my house before we moved in and after we moved in and all the flowers that have bloomed around the house. I think that scrapbooking has been a great experience for me. I use to work jigsaw puzzles, sew, and knit, but none of those hobbies compare to scrapbooking. I most likely will return to those hobbies one day. Sometimes I give my self a change of pace and work a puzzle but I always return to my scrapbooking. I can not believe that I hated it so much and made fun of it. I have a scrapbook of me scrapbooking and all the places that I have set for my scrapbook area. I brought and put together storage furniture to hold my scrapbooking supplies. During the last two years that I have been scrapbooking, I have seen some strange pages in magazines and books about scrapbooking and I think the most oddest was a page about forks. I have accumulated so many stickers and pages patterned and plain, for by books. I gave each one of my children, a miniature book for themselves for Christmas and they absolutely loved them and brought tears to their eyes even the guys. I have started to collect tools of the trade, as it were, and as much as I love shopping, nothing compares to finishing a page and looking at how fantastic it looks. I need to develop a plan to make money with my scrapbooking that would make it a little more worth while. I love to look back at my first scrapbooks and see all the things and idea that I have used on my pages. My first page had everything on it: stamps, embellishment, stickers, journaling, die cuts and of course pictures. I recently made a scrapbook about the different building and sights of the city of Cleveland Ohio. Next, I think I will do a book about the city of Brook Park Ohio. I sometimes love to share my books but I am very protective of my work and do not like criticism or scrutiny. This has been my scrapbooking experience and needless to say I love it.
