I originally created this layout for a challenge that required using the word “fall” in the title. It expresses how I felt towards my daughter within hours after we first met. The photo was taken at the hospital the day after her birth. A technique that I used was cutting the die cut paper to use a decorative border for my patterned paper. The journaling reads: I fall to pieces, When I hear you cry. You make my knees weak, When I look in your eyes. I’ll do whatever it takes, To give you the world. I’ll love you forever, My little girl. –Mom

I Fall to Pieces

I created this layout using a sketch from Pencil Lines for a challenge on a message board. It is special to me because it is of my daughter on her first birthday, as it showcases her “girly side”. My husband always jokes how much she looks like her brother with the short hair and everyone mistakes her for a boy. So for her birthday I found the pinkest most girly outfit I could find, including a tutu and silly headband with a huge butterfly on it, and she looked beautiful. However, for this layout I chose to use the photo in black and white for emphasis against the bold patterned paper.

My love for scrap booking revolves around my family. Most of my layouts are of my three children. I have been doing this for about 3 years; however I did not begin submitting work online until this past summer. I am currently a DT member for Scrappin’ Sport Stuff. I have an obsession for kits and I love to use sketches. I feel it simplifies the process for me and allows me to try new things.
