Vinyl has become increasingly popular as a great way to decorate walls but it can also be used for scrapbooking and cardmaking. Pazzles’ new wall vinyl comes in 12 wonderful designer colors that just beg to be incorporated into all kinds of projects. For Princess Faire, I used images from Pazzles’ new Wall Décor CD plus a few I created specifically for this project. By adhering the vinyl to transparency plastic I created a delicate touch that looks like rub-on transfers. I also used the vinyl to dress up a cloth covered album. What little girl wouldn’t love to have this set to remember her happy princess dress up party?
How to Cut and Apply Vinyl 1. Use a light pressure and shorter blade length for vinyl. The Pazzles Inspiration software will have a suggested setting and I used those. Make sure to select weeding in the cut control panel so that you waste as little vinyl as possible.
2. After cutting the vinyl, you need to peel away the unwanted parts (weeding). Use the Pazzles needle tool from the Butterfly Tool Kit to help lift up the edges. When done you should only have the vinyl pieces that you want to use on your project.
3. Cut a piece of Pazzles transfer tape a bit larger than the vinyl you are transferring. Lay it on the vinyl and use the Pazzles Chizzler tool to rub firmly over the transfer tape so that the vinyl clings to it.
4. Carefully lift the transfer tape up and the vinyl should lift away from the backing paper. Rub with the Chizzler tool if the vinyl isn’t sticking. Be patient and work slowly as you lift especially if your pieces are small.
5. Use the transfer tape to move (transfer) the vinyl to your project. Position carefully and press down, working from one side to the other.
6. Use the Pazzles Chizzler tool to press down firmly, rubbing all over the transfer tape.
7. Now, slowly lift the transfer tape up, making sure the vinyl stays down on the project. If the vinyl lifts, rub more with the Chizzler tool.
The Pazzles Inspiration made designing the projects easy and fun. This project can be adapted to fit any size album or card by using the Inspiration Studio software to change the size. You can also use a different font or change the title in the software. The Inspiration software will help you make this project uniquely your own.
