We bought our backyard pool at the end of the summer of 2008, so last summer my older daughter Elizabeth really got to enjoy it. For this layout, I wanted to use fun, bright papers to pull out some of the great colors in the photos. I also wanted to give the feeling of water with my embellishments so I cut the patterned paper with a wavy edge, painted the title with Glitter Glaze and used epoxy stickers and Glossy Accents to create the look of water droplets.

In the Cool of the Pool

Beginner Project

Both of my daughters love to play in the water. Last summer was the first time my younger daughter, Adrienne, had a chance to play in the pool. I created this layout with some of the adorable photos I had taken of her in the water. I already had the K and Company Citronella mat stack from a class I had taken and I knew the colors would work great with my photos. So the challenge for this page was to work only with paper that was 4 ¾ inches by 6 ¾ inches.
