One of my favorite things to do is to go to the beach. I love to walk along the surf, look for special treasures and feeling the waves creep up the beach to wet my feet. Whenever I get the chance to go I am on it, and this day was a last minute planned trip with my grandkids. I took my camera and sat in the sand and snapped away at the fun they were having playing in the surf. The photo in this layout was pure chance and pure luck and I love it!! I knew as soon as I caught it that it would be special. The angle, the perspective, the action, the wind in her hair and the contrast of her swimsuit all worked together so that the photo evokes memories of those carefree days at the beach for everyone who sees it.

I received a scrapbooking kit from Treasured Scrapbooking and noticed that the 7Gypsies papers were a perfect match for this photo. The nostalgic ads/print with a hint of color here and there and the blue printed paper that matched her swimsuit so well were so perfect that this layout almost created itself! I am in the middle of a move to a new space which I am designing and I wanted to incorporate this photo into an accent for my bedroom, so the result is this layout. One more plus about this layout is the use of shells that I bought while vacationing in Morro Bay earlier in the year. Since this layout will be framed I wanted a lot of texture and dimension.
