Winter Wonderland

When I look back at the precious gifts in my life, I can’t help but see your twinkling eyes with that gold bow on your head. This was your first Christmas and you where only 10 months old. You are now almost 4 years old and just as curious as you were in this photo. And the funny thing is you still have that twinkle in your eyes just like you did on your first Christmas! As your mommy, I want to always remember those special moments, that twinkle in your eyes and just how curious you can be. I hope you never change, but if you do, you can always look back at all the scrapbooks I have created and see just how precious you are to me. My precious gift, I love you.

Feeling Fun and Frosty

I don't do two-page layouts very often, but this series of photos of my daughter playing in the snow definitely called out for more than one page. On the day we went to the park to go sledding, much of the snow was melted and slushy, but this didn't dampen my daughter's enthusiasm one bit! The journaling reads:
Much of the snow we got had melted so Webster Park was wet, slushy, and slippery. None of this dampened your enthusiasm for sledding, although it did soak your mittens, coat, and snow pants.

Pretty in Pink

This picture of my great niece is a favorite of mine. She has lived in warm places, such as South Carolina and Guam, her entire life. The look on her face as she looks at the snow is just priceless to me. It makes me think she is thinking, "What is this white stuff?" The other fun part about this picture, and why I had to make a layout about it, is the snow suit. Inside that huge snow suit is a tiny little baby girl! All kids look this way in snow suits, which I find funny. How many small children or babies look natural in their snow suit? Not many.

- Embellishments: brad (Oriental Trading Co)
- Patterned paper: (KI Memories); (Recollections); (K&Company)
- Punches: border punch (Martha Stewart)

1. Using my Cricut and Storybook cartridge, I cut 2" Tall/border, shift "T" out of pink cardstock. Using a die cutting machine and Spellbinders "Create a Flake 1" dies, cut out the largest snowflakes in the set and cover them with glitter glue. Set aside to dry.

3. Adhere the Cricut die cut to the left side of the layout and place snowflake stickers on the flowers and around the flourish.
4. Place shaped patterned paper mat off -center to the right with a journal box adhered towards the bottom right corner. Mat the photo on a piece of pink cardstock and layer it on top of the shaped patterned paper and journal box.
5. Once the snowflakes are dry, layer snowflake stickers onto them and adhere to the right side on the shaped mat. Place a snowflake brad in the center of the largest die cut.
