Part 4 - PHOTO FOR TITLE, COLOR, DECORATION
Sometimes the sign at a destination can drive the design of the whole page. The sign on The Children's Museum in Ann Arbor, Michigan had such a colorful design that I just had to copy it for the layout title and elements on the page.
1. I scanned the photo on my computer and enlarged the sign on the building. Methods mentioned in part 1 would work if you do not have access to a scanner.
2. I found a similar font I had in a template and traced the letters onto the appropriate colored card stock and cut them out.

3. Then I traced the gears for the "O" and hand for the "A" onto card stock the same color as the original and cut those, too.

4. The words above and below "HANDS-ON" I lettered by hand trying to copy from the photo.

5. Using a circle cutter I cut gears of various sizes for the enhancements on the layout.
6. I even used gears for some photo frames on the last page.
