A Letter From The Editor -- Article
I get a cozy feeling just thinking about harvest time. Pumpkins, cider and falling leaves are few of my favorite things this time of year.

A Letter From The Editor -- Article
It’s officially fall and time to start thinking about what to wear for Halloween. Since this is my favorite “holiday”, I love to decorate, plan parties and of course come up with an elaborate costume. Maybe you could use a few ideas for your own celebrations, if so, you’ve come to the right place. Our October issue is filled with spooky goodness that won’t scare your wallet.

A Letter From The Editor -- Article

I’m pleased to announce the addition of the Teen section, a brand new place for kids and teens to find ideas and creative projects specifically for them. Paris Hilton joins our staff as a contributor and will be submitting a regular monthly article for our enjoyment. I’m tickled pink to have her on board and am looking forward to her unique offerings of art, elegance and inspiration. I hope you will share the upcoming projects with your children and build the foundation for a lifetime of creativity.

Summer is beginning to wane as the hot August weather gives an excuse to duck indoors for some back-to-school shopping. Whether this time of year is a happy or sad event, no doubt the excitement of a new beginning is cause for some camera snapping. Perhaps this is the first time you are sending your baby away on the big yellow school bus or maybe this is a familiar routine for you. Either way, the first day of school is a special occasion for every parent and child. Celebrate this rite of passage by keeping it forever in your heart and in your scrapbook.

May is the season of weddings, graduations and family celebrations. These events are especially important now that many of us are struggling. It is my hope that we can find relief and comfort in the joys that these events bring. Although money may be important, it is not the most important thing. Find room in your life to recognize special moments and preserve them forever, like the designers in this month’s issue of Scrapbooking.com Magazine.

A Letter From The Editor -- Article
Welcome to the April issue and welcome spring! It’s been a year since I took over the magazine as Editor in Chief. I was recently reflecting on all the changes we’ve made since then. I think the magazine looks better than ever, but I am a little biased. I’m especially proud of the popular new content like the Going Green articles and Crafting With Kids. Both have received lots of great feedback and I’m looking forward to the coming months. We’ll continue to grow here at the magazine and can only get better. Thank you for your support and loyalty.

Our favorite time of year coincides perfectly with our favorite reason to scrap – babies. See the story of a premature birth, now documented beautifully and lovingly as a family heirloom in the Photobook section. And there are plenty of baby layouts to keep you cooing throughout the issue.

The Craft And Hobby Association’s (CHA) Winter Trade Show is the largest of its kind. Manufacturers from all over the globe gather to unveil their new releases for the year and also showcase all the old favorites. It’s a product lover’s dream come true.

A Letter From The Editor -- Article
Welcome to 2009. I’m beginning to feel my age, especially when I ask where all the time has gone. Seemingly before I was aware of the last year, we’re already starting another and I think there has to have been a miscount. As I look back on 2008, a few happy memories emerge and I realize I had better take care of these before they sink back into the fog of my everyday. So let’s all take a few moments to review the major events of the past year. And no, I’m not talking about politics, sporting events or celebrity break-ups. I mean the important events in our individual lives. Can we collectively agree to keep track of them so that they may be cherished for a very long time? Check out how some artists have preserved the passing year in this month’s Year In Review feature. Be sure to get some ideas for how to document your own life, so you won’t be as surprised as me come next January.

Letter From The Editor -- Article
December is a month for celebrating. Of course there are several noteworthy holidays and some not-so-noteworthy birthdays (like mine). But with the celebrations comes the gift giving, which can be an expensive undertaking for any family – large or small. I know many of you are watching your wallets this year and being frugal is probably a good thing regardless of the economy. Crafting is the perfect solution for those of us who need special gifts at a bargain price. With this in mind, Scrapbooking.com Magazine has lots of ideas from the best artists in the business. From decking the halls with holiday décor to simple layouts for preserving memories, there’s something for everyone in this issue.

Meet The Scrapbooking.com Magazine Designers -- Article
Hi, I'm Di Hickman and I'm a scrapbooker. Well I'm more than that really because I create layouts, cards, altered items, digital projects, hybrid and everything in between. I love doing a variety of mediums and projects and I feel this really gives my projects an edge. In 2001 we moved from England to the USA, I remember walking into a craft store, seeing all the scrapbooking supplies and telling my husband (Bob) that "I could never get into all that!".

Jami's Special Announcement -- Article
Welcome to the September issue. I have a special announcement that I’m too excited to keep secret anymore! Here at the magazine, we are busily preparing for a wild and crazy contest! And though it hasn’t officially started yet, I’m letting the cat out of the bag. You are the first to know about our Funniest Scrapbook Video contest! The contest will run October through November, but I wanted to let you know early so you could start to crank those creative wheels and possibly prepare an entry. Grab your cameras and let’s see what you’ve got! The topic is scrapbooking, of course, and should be an easy target for some hilarious parodies.

Windy City Wonders -- Article
Jami and I just got back from attending the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) Summer Convention and Trade Show in Chicago. CHA is a big event where scrapbooking and craft manufacturers showcase new products, retailers order the hottest supplies for their stores, and editors get to network and play with the latest scrapbook stuff. Believe me, it may seem like all fun and games but being on your feet all day can be tiring. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful time and saw some great new products we will be introducing in the magazine over the next few months. Make sure you visit us often to see the surprises we have in store for you!

Happy Summer -- Article
I am so excited for summer! Once school is out and Memorial Day passes, it seems like every weekend is just begging to be filled with day trips, long hikes, family picnics, weekend crops, and lazy Sunday mornings lying in a hammock with a glass of ice tea, a bowl of fruit…ah, summer just can’t get here soon enough.

What a May! -- Article
Wow! Things are changing everywhere! I step outside and breathe in the sweet aroma of blooming flowers, hear the buzz of birds and bugs, and feel the warmth of the bright sun. Everything is coming alive and has sparked some welcome changes here at Scrapbooking.com as well.

Photos + Scrapbooking = History -- Article
Photos make our lives richer. Sometimes a photo is all we have after a loved one passes away. That’s why keeping, printing and storing our photos is so important. Here’s the perfect example. Our family has one photo of my Great-Great-Great Grandfather. He was a slave and lived to be over 100 years old. That one photo is really a treasure in our family. Unfortunately, many of us lose crucial pieces of our family history and sadly, we may never get that back.

Welcome Spring! -- Article
I’ve been waiting months to say, “Welcome Spring!” March marks the beginning of spring and the opportunity to spend quality time outside. It’s one of my favorite times to take a walk and snap pictures of life sprouting up everywhere. It’s also the time my family and I take a trip to the Grand Canyon. If you haven’t been this time of year, it’s an awesome experience. The patches of snow, shoots of greenery, and glimpses of wildlife make for timeless photo opportunities, so much so I have an entire scrapbook dedicated to the Grand Canyon experience.

Keeping Cozy Inside -- Article
Living in the warm southwest, I sometimes forget that in other parts of the world it’s freezing. On the news the other night the weatherman said that somewhere in South Dakota the high for the day was -11! I can’t even imagine what -11 feels like but I can imagine that living there I’d have a lot of excuses to stay warm inside and scrapbook, and spend time reading the latest issue of Scrapbooking.com Magazine.

Happy New Year! -- Article
WOW…2008 is here and I am so excited to see what the year will hold! 2007 was undoubtedly an extraordinary year. New memories were made that were both happy and sad and resolutions were (fingers-crossed) kept. Hopefully, we found time to photograph and scrapbook it all.

As crazy as it seems, I enjoy the madness of the holidays. At 3:30 in the morning, I was standing in line with my friend at an after-Thanksgiving sale freezing and laughing at what a great time we were having. My family told me I was nuts and I realized, as my friend and I fought through a crowd for DVDs, that I might be crazy and I’m okay with that because this is how I like to kick off the holiday season.

Christmas at Nine Years Old

Thank You -- Article
November is by far my favorite month of the year. The cool weather makes me want to spend lots of time outside taking long walks and tons of pictures. And, admittedly, I love to eat on Thanksgiving Day (and the many days of leftovers). For me it’s a good thing Thanksgiving only comes once a year! LOL!

It’s All About Vegas, Baby! -- Article
We just got back from the MemoryTrends trade show in Las Vegas and, needless to say, it was fun! We wandered the Vegas strip, saw lots of interesting people, enjoyed a “Viva Las Vegas” water show sung by the king himself, and had just an all around good time. But, it wasn’t just the Vegas sites that were exciting we also had a chance to spend time with some of the hottest scrapbook manufacturers at the one trade show dedicated to the products we love. We’re looking forward to showcasing some of these products in future issues so be sure to check in with us often, you won’t want to miss the latest and greatest scrapbook goodies.

A Reason to Celebrate -- Article
Growing up, school was an important part of our lives. We anxiously counted down the days till we started a new year. Donned in our new school clothes, we felt as though we could conquer the world, or at least the next grade. I hope, as you read through this month’s issue, you’ll share some of our fond school memories and reflect on how special the school experience is for all children, even if you don’t have any of your own.

Summertime is a Wonderful Time -- Article
What a wonderful summer this has been! I had the opportunity in July to visit the great windy city of Chicago for the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) Summer 2007 show.

May is one of my favorite months of the year. And why wouldn’t it be? In May, the days become warm and beautiful flowers grace every street—on trees, window boxes and in gardens. Each day is just so fresh and fragrant, walking outside puts a smile on my face and happiness in my heart. I love to celebrate God’s gifts…from the miracle of growth not only in the garden, but from human nature as well. Where would any of us be without the love of a mother? We have learned to be nurtured and how to nurture. Join me this month in Scrapbooking.com Magazine and see how our designers celebrate May through, mothers, gardens, proms and so much more.

A Letter from the Editor -- Article
As I sit here listening to the stereo with Christmas carols playing in the background, I am moved to become nostalgic of my Christmases past. I remember as a child the wonder and surprises that were in store on Christmas morning when my brothers, sisters and I would pile down the stairs and see a beautifully decorated Christmas tree that wasn’t there when we went to bed the night before. I remember the soft lighting of the candles in church on Christmas Eve as we all sang Silent Night in what seemed like perfect harmony. I remember the warm cocoa and homemade cookies we would have together with the neighborhood kids after spending a cold evening going door to door caroling—even the Santa head mugs are a source of nostalgia for me.

To me, October is when autumn really begins. The air turns crisp, the days get shorter, pumpkins arrive on doorsteps, you can hear the rustling of leaves as the wind blows and you can smell the scents of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves wafting from the kitchen. Ah, autumn has arrived!

I love when September rolls around! It is usually a welcome time for me to settle down from the crazy days of summer as the kids go back to school and I can get myself back into a regular routine. September to me is a very nostalgic month as I reflect on many of my favorite things in life. New notebooks and clothes for school, the warm sun of the Indian summer as it hits my face, the coolness of a September evening as I pull on my favorite sweater, the leaves as they turn colors and begin to fall and the many birthday parties I had and attended as a child. All of these make up the story of my life.

Summer is my absolute favorite time of the year! As much as the kids may drive me crazy from being home from school, I love to have the time to spend with them. We get to go to the beach, play in the pool, go to the park, watch the sunset, chase the fireflies, barbeque and be amazed by fireworks. It’s almost like being a kid again myself!

A Letter From The Editor -- Article
June finally brings us the warmer days of what will soon be summer. The sunshine takes us outside as the world opens up to have fun. We have much to celebrate this month with Father’s Day around the corner, many weddings to attend and schools out, which brings us graduations. We also have a new designer added to our team.

May is a lovely time of year when everything feels soft and fresh. Scents of flowers waft through the air as gentle breezes blow the new leaves that have sprouted on the trees. May brings us a month of paying tribute to those who nourish us, nurture us, protect us and give us our freedoms...both mom and our military personnel.

A Letter from the Editor -- Article
April showers bring May flowers-so the saying goes. April brings visions of daffodils, crocuses, budding trees, singing birds, green grass, Easter, gardens, puddles and good friends. Scrapbooking.com Magazine is blooming with many great ideas right from the hearts of our designers. Be sure to plant yourself within our magazine and nourish the roots of your scrapbooking world.

March is an ever turbulent time of year. Winter is coming to an end and spring is just around the corner. Every year I am reminded of that old saying, "March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb". To me, it is more like March comes in like "gangbusters" with all the wind that sweeps in-still bringing some windy-chilly weather.

Letter From The Editor -- Article
When you think February...you envision colors of reds and pinks, Cupid, hearts and anything to do with love. I remember as a child the excitement of picking out the perfect pack of Valentine cards to give to classmates. I would spend hours writing out each one to give to just the right person. Funny how time hasn't changed things so much, my children still do the same. I guess this is a ''staple'' for the Valentine's season.
