I needed something nice to fill the space and knew I could create it myself. I came across Rusty Pickle's HOME chipboard set and knew it would be perfect for my space.
Bwa-Ha-Ha Halloween Banner -- Article I love basic kits, and adding my own touches to the project. The Spellbound Garland Kit by Making Memories is a fantastic foundation to build upon. With a few more embellishments, you can add your own touches to the banner to make it unique. This banner will be a great addition to your Halloween décor. A Tisket, A Tasket -- Article When you think of a teacher what comes to mind? An apple! So I made an apple picnic basket gift set for our favorite teacher. I added apple butter and apple muffin mix for a sweet treat. A gift anyone would enjoy receiving!
Teacher’s Truffles -- Article I was looking for inexpensive gifts for all of the teachers in my children’s lives. Buying something for all of them can really add up! So I purchased this template called My Timeless Template “Get A Handle On It”. I bought transparencies from my local office supply store so I could make them clear. Then I got truffles and divided them up between all of the boxes, added some ribbon and flowers as embellishments. I made a quick tag, and I was all done. The teachers just loved them!
Silver Thumbprints -- Article I love art of all forms. I’ve been working in the Arts since I was seventeen, first in music, and for the last twenty years in an art gallery. During my second semester of college, I took a jewelry class. Immediately, I knew that it was a passion that I would continue throughout my lifetime.
101 in 1001 Goals Album -- Article Whenever people ask me how I do everything, how I juggle all the things I have going on in my life I always say “two things – lists and goals”. I am a compulsive list maker and have a daily to-do list on the go each morning to start my day, but by far my favorite thing is making goals. Whether these are personal goals, professional goals or just random things I want to achieve in my lifetime. Writing down goals is extremely important in order to achieve them.
Altered Clipboard Frame -- Article For the last few years, I have had the opportunity to help out with a local 4H group, the Crazy Crafters, by contributing and teaching a class a couple of times each session. The project is usually paper based with scrapbooking 'roots' and easy enough to complete in a couple of hours but also challenging too, for the all of the girls in the groups who range from 9-16yrs old. This altered clipboard filled the bill - challenging by teaching some new techniques and enough breathing room for all of the girls to express their own creativity. They loved it (I think!) and I hope you do too.
Flowers in a Bottle -- Article I love papercrafting of all types, scrapbooking, altered art, home décor, you name it - if it involves paper, I want to be a part of it.
One Photo – Two Layouts -- Article On a warm summer day in 2007, my brother faithfully promised his eternal love to his new wife, Wendy. A lot of beautiful photographs were taken and I enjoyed scrapping them. However, this one photo really stood out for me. It was the inspiration of this single photograph that yielded two separate and completely different layouts.
Just A Few Things I Love -- Article I love altering items and coming up with my own creations, and I wanted to make a mini book about some of the things I love. Because I am really close with my family I chose to create a mini chipboard book about them! I think mini books are so much fun. You can make them any size you like, and choose how to bind them. I used a funky ribbon and a binder ring. And because this mini book is made from chipboard it is sturdy and it makes a wonderful home décor piece. I can disply it on a bookshelf or end table. I hope my mini book inspires you to make your own and gets your creative juices flowing!
Fabric Scrapping a Mini Quilt -- Article OK, the holidays are over, the economy is tight and warm weather is expected to hibernate in most of the country for at least the next three months. So, what are you going to do with your indoor time to stave off cabin fever? Why not craft some memories from the scraps of your life just like your grandmother and countless generations before did by creating a fabric scrap mini quilt. Believe me, it is a lot easier than it looks and supplies are easy to come by if this is the time of year that you are getting rid of the old to make room for the new while organizing your kids or your own wardrobe.

Simple Fabric Scraps -- Article With the economy going haywire all around us, it’s a really good idea to be able to make your scrapbooking tools do double or, even, triple duty. Though stamping on fabric may not be a new idea, being able to combine your stamped creations into something artfully unique can be a prosperous one, as well as, personally satisfying. To help make ends meet I have recently opened an Etsy shop, a space on a commercial website which offers handmade goods for sale to the public, and decided that I would sew purses and totes as some of my offerings. However I didn’t want to sew just ordinary looking totes, I wanted to create something special for the discernible buyer. What I really wanted was for my handmade totes to somewhat resemble art quilts, but to be more durable at the same time.
Cute & Creepy Party Favors -- Article October is a month for ghosts and witches…the kinds that are less than 3 feet tall and call you “Mommy”. Kids love the parties, costumes, trick-or-treating, the candy that they eat for weeks afterwards, but Halloween seems to bring out the child in just about everyone. There is something fun and exciting about a party where everyone dresses in costume, and can assume another character’s identity for a few hours. Now you can plan the perfect party with these easy favors for guests and goblins.
Auditions from the Inside -- Article More and more scrappers these days are trying to take their hobby to the next level. We still love to scrap for our family and our history, but we would love to do a bit more. We want our work to be published. We enter and try to win large contests. And we want to be a part of and design for a team. There are hundreds of teams for local scrapbook stores, online kit clubs, magazines and manufacturers, but how do you get onto one of these teams? Join me on a tour of my recent audition for the Cosmo Cricket Design Team… an inside peak of my strategy and my sample projects. I hope you will pick up a trick or two to use for your next big audition!
Celebrate July! -- Article Whenever July 4th comes around, I’m excited to wear our annual red, white, and blue t-shirts bought from our local Old Navy and celebrate Independence Day to its fullest! Scrapbook pages and other paper crafts make great gifts and memoirs for this wonderful holiday. Incorporating traditional images like stars and stripes made out of our nation’s bold colors is the perfect place to start!
Pretty in Pink -- Article One of my favorite ways to find inspiration for projects is to simply look at different color schemes. I find that by choosing a particular color palette (in this case a beautiful range of pinks and corals) I can also determine the direction that my projects will take. The really fun thing is when I discover that I can create many different looks using that same color scheme.

Bonus Baby Projects -- Article Over the past few months, two of my good friends from high school and my little sister had their first children. It’s been nothing but baby talk for almost a year now and I love it! I got to attend three showers (two of which I was lucky enough to plan), shop for adorable clothes, and put my baby scrapbook supplies to work. Being an aunt (even an adoptive aunt for my friends’ babies), has been everything I could have hoped for. That’s why when I came across these baby projects I knew they must be shared with the world!
