This layout is from the day my daughter tried on my wedding dress, prior to the shopping trip for HER wedding dress. I included the formal portrait of me in the dress in 1963 with the snapshot of her in nearly the same pose in 2001. Then her cat hopped onto the train of the dress for a ride around the house.

Instructions
When I want a border around my layout, I take 1/2 or 1/4 inch from the top and one side of my main background paper, depending on the depth of border I want. Then I use my Fiskers 12" Trimmer to trim out the inside of the border paper leaving a 3/4 to 1/2 inch border.
The lettering was drawn on the reverse side of the paper and hand-cut. It was a tedious task. Decoration was added after the letters were in place.
The partial silhouette (cat riding on dress train) is a favorite technique of mine. I cut the oval using a template from where I want the silhouette to end around to where I want it to start. Then I cut the silhouette.
