Instructions
For this project, you do not need to do anything to the playing card before adding color to it!
Pat the Yellow Ochre Fluid chalk pad over one of the mini playing cards, covering the entire card with color. Heat set with a heat gun. Stamp the Sculpture collage image onto the prepared mini card using the Black Memories permanent ink pad. Heat set with a heat gun. Paint a ‘shadow’ around the female image using the detail paintbrush and the Lumiere paint. Let dry. Set aside.
Pat the Vatican Wine Fresco ink pad over the remaining mini playing card, covering the entire card with color. Heat set with heat gun. Stamp the Woman’s face image onto the prepared mini card using the Black Memories permanent ink pad. Heat set with heat gun. Stamp the word ART with the alphabet stamp set using the Blue Memories permanent ink pad. Heat set with heat gun.
Trim edges of Mat board so that it fits in between the two mini cards. Glue the two stamped playing cards to either side of the mat board using the Mod Podge and ½” paintbrush. Let dry. Spray each stamped card with the Workable Fixatif to seal the artwork so the inks will not bleed when the Crystal Lacquer is applied. Let dry. Remove the backing paper from the Copper Tape. Place the mini card covered mat board in the center of the tape, so that you have an even edge on both sides. Stick the edges of the tape down all around the cards. Refer to the sample if needed.- Now you will punch the hole for the key ring in the upper corner using the ¼” hole punch.
Lay the card face up on a flat surface. Squeeze on the Crystal Lacquer very carefully, covering the entire front of the card. Be sure to cover the edge of the copper tape to help keep it in place.- If you get air bubbles, suck them up with the tip of the bottle or a small straw. Set this aside to dry well. This will take a little while, let set at least several hours. Then when dry, do the other side the same way.- I like to set mine aside overnight. Then the next morning do the other side and let dry all day. When all dry, attach the Key ring finding.
