Intermediate--Chalk-a-Lots! Ink provides soft color and texture when applied using the direct-to-paper technique.
Supplies
  • Garden Paper Accents Cardstock (paperpalette.net)
  • Stardust White Cardstock (paperpalette.net)
  • Black Paper Accents Cardstock (Petersen-Arne)
  • Raspberry Cordial Chalk-a-Lots Ink (Stewart Superior)
  • Pistachio Ganache Chalk-a-Lots Ink (Stewart Superior)
  • Honey Caramel Chalk-a-Lots Ink (Stewart Superior)
  • Kenya Montage (Stampendous)
  • Bold Black Inkredible! Ink (Stewart Superior)
  • Black Imprintz Embossing Powder (Stewart Superior)
  • Black Imprintz Detail Embossing Powder (Stewart Superior)
  • Heat Tool (Milwaukee)
  • Double-stick Tape (Heiko)
  • Paper Trimmer (Fiskars)
Instructions

1.Cut black cardstock to the following sizes: 11" X 6 3/4", 4 7/8" X 6", and 5 3/8" X 4 ½".

2. Cut white cardstock to 4" X 5 1/8" and 6 3/8" X 5 1/8".

3. Cut garden cardstock to 4 ½" X 5 5/8".

4. Use direct-to-paper technique to color larger white cardstock with Raspberry Cordial ink. Heat set.

5. Use direct-to-paper technique and Honey Caramel ink to color about ¼ to 1/3 of smaller white cardstock. Apply ink unevenly, leaving ragged edges of color. Heat set ink. Repeat with Pistachio Ganache ink, slightly overlapping color. Heat set. Repeat with Raspberry Cordial ink. Heat set. Apply additional color as needed, being sure to heat set between and after each color.

6. Stamp Kenya Montage over background with Bold Black ink. Sprinkle with black embossing powder and shake off excess powder. Sprinkle stamped image with black detail embossing powder and shake off excess powder. Use heat tool to emboss.

7. Apply double-stick tape to back edges of all but the largest piece of cardstock. Fold largest piece of black cardstock in half to form card.

8. Layer all pieces, smallest on top. Attach layers to card.
