Picture Perfect Camera
Stamped Gifts by Jennifer Ellefson
Find a store near you! Printable Project Card
It is so popular to have disposable cameras on the tables at wedding receptions, and why not? No one wants to forget your big day. Capture the fun moments in style by customizing your cameras. Does that sound difficult? Ends up that it is much easier than you would expect! This Picture Perfect camera is a great example of just how easy it can be to customize and make something plain into something beautiful.
Supplies
  • Adhesive: Xyron, Score Tape (Score Pal)
  • Cardstock: Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush (Papertrey Ink)
  • Die Cuts: Classic Circles, Petite Scalloped Circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders Paper Arts)
  • Inks: Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush (Papertrey Ink)
  • Patterned Paper: Pretty Pink Petals (Papertrey Ink)
  • Pen: White Poster Paint (Sharpie)
  • Ribbon: 5/8” Berry Sorbet Swiss Dots (Papertrey Ink)
  • Stamps: Favor It Weddings - Bags, Tags & Boxes (Papertrey Ink)
Instructions

1. Once you have your camera (this is a Kodak camera available at mass retailers), carefully peel off the label. Your goal is to peel it off in one piece so that when you’re finished, you can place it on a piece of paper. This will enable you to cut it out and make your template. If you know which patterned paper you would like to use, place your template face down onto the back of that paper. Trace out the template and cut it out.

2. The rounded, plastic case makes a strong, consistent adhesive a must; for this, I used a combination of Xyron (for full, even coverage) and a liner tape (such as Terrifically Tacky Tape from Provo Craft or Score Tape from Score Pal) along the top edge. Once you have adhered the patterned paper to the camera, you’re ready to embellish.

3. Choose a complimentary ribbon to tie a big bow around the camera.

4. Cut a circle and scalloped circle in coordinating colors. Here I used Spellbinder’s Nestabilities, perfect for this type of project because of the added detail you get with the embossing features. Stamp the frame and sentiment with coordinating inks.

5. To make it coordinate even more, you can use a white pen to add polka dots to the scallops on the circle.

6. The last step is to punch a small hole and string some DMC floss through it, and simply tie it to the ribbon around the camera.
