Summer Summer by Linda Albrecht |
|
Nothing says summer like the colors red, white, and blue and it's a perfect way to showcase fun water photos or dress up your next outdoor meal. I was able to use red and dark blue ink to make unique borders and circle images. By layering the circle images with colored cardstock, brads, and decorative-edged scissors, I created embellishments that are unlike the pre-made pieces that you buy. You can use the stamps over and over with different colors of ink and techniques to utilize several different images that mix together perfectly and make your projects uniquely your own.

1. Use medium blue cardstock as a base for the layout and adhere 11 1/2" x 11 1/2" piece of the red patterned paper in the center then machine stitch 1/4" from the outside edges.
2. Adhere a 10" x 8" piece of the white paper to the center right edge of the layout then machine stitch 1/4" from the outside edges.
3. Adhere two 4" x 6" photos to the layout approximately 1" from the top of the white paper piece. Add machine stitching as desired.
4. Stamp Summer Interactive Circle images onto light tan cardstock and grid style patterned paper to create 5 different circles.

6. Attach brads as shown and adhere the circles onto the layout. Clip one of the circles to the right side of the layout.
7. Use small star images and ultramarine blue and red ink to apply stars to the white paper section.
8. Make a small tag from light tan cardstock and stamp "all wet" and star images onto it then add red string and attach to the layout with a brad.
